Semionauts Experimental Boot Camp in Semantic Drama
A radical boot camp and evening workshop in experimental product semantic drama, where the possibilities of visual performance with mass produced objects are explored through appropriational practice. The aim of the evening is to produce a short product semantic drama of pirated meaning to be performed in a theatre context.
In an age where visuality is equal to existence product semantics is a field of constant battle over trends in a raging battle between style schools, mythical systems and copyrighted territories of visual expression. The power surveilling the flow of information and symbolic exchange of signs is undoubtly in a superior position where the _Semionauts_ workshop acts as a drama boot camp for semantic agents of resistance acting as specialists in subversive strategies of reversed visual consumption.
The _Semionauts_ boot camp develops skills such as:
- appropriational practice of usurpism
- instant product subversion
- political programme of semiotic piracy
- prototyping parasitic meaning
- visual degeneration of performative action
all with the aim of converting the viewer into an independent and collaborative doer, an active participator in the semantic event and activity of existence.
