Design Turkey 2008 Industrial Design Awards
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in previous year, ETMK has signed under the most prestigious industrial design event in Turkey. Design Turkey awards which has brought the state, the industrial designers and the industry together for the first time in Turkey, was organized organized with the collaboration of Undersecretariate for Foreign Trade (DTM), Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and Industrial Designers Society of Turkey (ETMK), within the framework of TURQUALITY® programme.
Out of 12 sectors 400 applications to the awards have been received which were handed out in order to make visible the benefits that good design brings to the society and industry in Turkey, by rewarding good design which respects user needs, and provides added value and competitive advantage to the product.
293 designs who were found eligible to pass the pre-evaluation phase were evaluated by an international jury formed of 28 experts by the end of October at the Antrepos, İstanbul, and "Good Design", "Superior design" and TURQUALİTY Design Awards" were distributed.
ETMK has developed the abstract of Design Turkey awards by the views of the advisory board formed of professional designers, academicians ad interdisciplinary experts in 2006.
